The Dawsonville Lions Club, along with other civic organizations and volunteers support operation of the Ric Rack, Dawsonville's community thrift shop. This facility is owned and Operated by the Resources International Council, a legally incorporated non-profit organization and a 501(3-C) charity. It is located at 829 Highway 9N, just about 1 mile north of the Dawsonville square, and provides clothing and other items at affordable prices for those in need in our community.

The mission of the Ric Rack is to provide assistance to any Dawson County resident who finds themselves in need of essential goods and basic human needs. Revenues are used to purchase food and items necessary for completion of this mission.

A Board of Directors is made up of members of the Dawsonville Lions Club, Dawson Woman's Club, local churches and local residents. ion Jerry Tragesser is a Director.

Daily operations are staffed by volunteers. Hours are 10:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday, and Saturday from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Donors may bring items to the Ric Rack during operating hours.

Started in 1992 the original Ric-Rack Thrift Shop was directed by Jean Greenway until 1999 and then by Joyce Mossinger until April of 2002. One of the first duties of the Board of Directors,  formed in January 2000, was to find a new location. In December of 2001, Rev. Nancy Noblin, member of a long-time Dawson County family, donated the land and building, previously a church,  where Ric Rack is now located.
