Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate
survivorship and raise money for research and programs of the American Cancer
Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or
parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least
one team member on the track at all times.
The Dawsonville Relay for Life takes place at the Dawson County Recreation
Park. The Dawsonville
Lions
gladly field a walking team annually and join other business and civic organizations in
this important event and help raise funds for the fight against cancer.
It's a festive time with lots of local entertainment taking place while the
teams test their endurance.
Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be
forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day,
cancer will be eliminated.
