The fund was started by Ms. Nancy Noblin in memory of her mother, Edna A. Noblin,
who was instrumental in helping people of Dawson County during very difficult
times.
The purpose of the fund is to provide financial assistance to residents of
Dawson and surrounding counties to further their education for future meaningful
employment. The funds are directed to those students who have exhausted all
other sources of financial assistance and need further financial help in
completing their education. Funding is provided by Ms. Nancy Noblin with
contributions from the Dawsonville Lions Club. Funds can be used for the
following purposes:

Medical including prescriptions |

Test and application fees |

Tutoring Assistance |

Transportation costs |
Committee members are: Lions Bill Hess, Joe Hirsch, George
David and Jerry Tragesser. Recommendations for candidates are
provided by the Crossover Alternative School, Family Connection, Adult Literacy
Center, North Georgia College & State University, Lanier Tech and other local
schools.
