Glasses & Hearing Aids

Home

One of the cornerstones of Lionism is the prevention of blindness and hearing impairment. The Dawsonville Lions Club helps do it's part with an ongoing project of collecting used eyeglasses and hearing aids.

Lions build collection boxes and distribute them to various locations around Dawson County. Residents are encouraged to place their used eyeglasses and/or hearing aids, no matter the condition, in these collection boxes. They will be picked up by the Lions. The lenses are measured and reused to provide eyeglasses to those in need around the world. The hearing aids are reconditioned to help those with hearing impairments and distributed in the same way.

Collection locations include United Community Bank(2 locations), Chestatee State Bank(2 locations), BB&T, Ingles and Kroger at Highway 53 and 400, Etowah Water Office, the Dawson County Courthouse and the Post Office in Dawsonville.

The Dawsonville Lions Club also helps to provide eye examinations and glasses to school children requiring assistance in the county. For more information about this and other projects ask your school administrators or any Dawson County Lions Club member.
