Other community activities for the Dawsonville Lions include:

CASA children's advocacy program
Arts Center and Senior Citizens Center are one of the recipients of financial support and work from our Club. Both have wheelchair ramps built by the Lions.  This year we provided a new professional grade stove for the Senior Center.

Optical Exams & Prescription Drugs Program
Shore Sweep is an annual event organized by the Lake Lanier Association and sponsored by the US Corps of Engineers, Lake Marinas, and many area newspapers, businesses and civic organizations. Hundreds of people pitch-in to cover the shore line by boat or on foot and collect tons trash. Participants are treated to Lanier Fest Party featuring bands, food, merchandise a prize drawings.
Scholarships are provided at a number of levels, including: Student of the Month for the High School and Middle School, Star Student and Teacher and special scholarships. For more information visit our Youth section on this web site.
Adopt-A-Mile committee has responsibility for a portion of Highway 53, west of Dawsonville. Members meet quarterly to clean up and bag trash.
Edna B. Noblin Scholarship Fund provides funds to be used by qualifying students to cover tuition, transportation expenses, computers.
Georgia Camp for the Blind
Dawson County Arts Council - Our club is supports development of the arts in Dawson County in numerous ways. In April the Lions Club Board of Directors approved a donation to the Arts Council for the purchase a television, VCR and audio equipment.
No One Alone (NOA) center for battered women and children
Dawson County Mentoring Program
Newspapers in Education is a partnership with Dawson Schools and our community. This program promotes Citizenship and Community involvement by exposing students to local history old and new.
Peace Poster Contest allows local children to compete with thousands of students around the globe. The contest is open to students ages 11, 12 and 13. Contestants are awarded cash prizes and, if eligible, go on to compete at State and International levels.
Elachee Nature Center Scholarships to students at Dawson County elementary schools to send students to the summer camp program.
